I say 15,000. UTEP actually has some fans in Dallas, as I recall from their last visit, and this will be a great chance for PonyFans to see an SMU win. I bet the crowd surprises you.

Reality Check-there were not even close to 15,000 SMU fans at Ford in the season opener against a Big 12 team. There will not be more than 8,000 real SMU fans plus some UTEP fans and the usual give-aways.

Yes, UTEP is bringing their full band and playing a half-time show. I always enjoy when other schools send a band, and utep has a decent band. Not loud or jazzy like us, but decent. :p

I'll go out on a limb and say 12,000 paid. Does anybody know if the the 1,500 little-leaguers count as paid attendance? I know they have a "package" deal, but waht's the rule, do they count?

Yes, I think they count - part of the package, I believe, is a ticket to the game.

And there were a hell of a lot more than 15,000 at the OSU game. A lot of OSU fans, of course, but the numbers were there.

Last time these two teams met in Ford Stadium: 17,037.

Yes, some will be Minors (ha!) and some will be freebies. But there will be some folks in the seats.

Ugh.. I honestly believe if we can start winning in the next few years, students will start turning up in record numbers. At least 3,000 students a game... there's at least that many tailgating, but only a small fraction only make it into Ford simply because we're rather appalling to watch

Ahh the tedious, painful process of rebuilding.

UTEP's pass defense is the weakest we have faced. Most of those we have faced have been darn good.
