Can SMU cover -9?

Post by KCFrog »

UTEP is BAD, but your offense hasn't exactly done too much. I would assume your RB will get at least 120 yds.

At -9, I am going home at lunch to place a bet. We will cover no problem, unless we have turnover issues.

ABSOLUTELY we'll cover. We won't light up the scoreboard like some people have said. But we will cover. I just don't see any offense from UTEP, last week's scrimmage notwithstanding.

SMU wins, 24-6.

It is really odd to see the point spread going down for the game, especially after the announcement that Palmer would not QB. But, after all, SMU is only averaging 8 pts per game. The spread is as low as 8.5 pts. On the other hand UTEP has the worst defense we have faced, so...

Look-out for mistakes on punt returns. UTEP has a good punter and we do not, so our returners are not used to seeing the kinds of punts they have had to face in game situations and this will be no exception.
