Assistant coach leaving SMU
Just read a new Twitter message from Rhonda, who said assistant coach Karen Blair is leaving to become the top assistant at Colgate. Karen was a star point guard at SMU and coached with the Ponies for about a decade.
You've been a great player and coach for SMU — good luck in your new venture.

That staff is the model of stability, and despite KB's departure, will remain that way. Whoever replaces her will walk into a fantastic coaching opportunity.
Good luck, Karen
Good luck, Karen

Congratulations on your new job, Coach Blair. Best of luck.
b/c it's proper message board etiquette, mostly b/c many/most don't care about women's hoops.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones
Proper etiquette? Please — Coach Blair was an SMU assistant coach, just like Steve Lutz or Dennis McKnight or Kevin Hudson. There's no need to identify this news as a "women's assistant coach" any more than you would have to designate "men's assistant coach" if one of those other guys left. Her departure is significant, and hopefully she will be replaced by an equally stellar coach who loves SMU as much as she does.

Every other college message board, w/actual traffic, properly denotes a women's thread. It helps for those that don't care about one program or the other. Since only two women's programs in America break even, it's safe to say the ladies traffic isn't causing server meltdowns. Don't waste my time or others. Contrary to what you believe, no matter the W/L's , all programs aren't created equal.

Are you really mad because you "wasted" 5-7 seconds of your life thinking that Doh had lost an assistant and then discovered that Rhonda lost one, part of her very successful team, instead?
