Get another DT to compliment O'Guin.

It may have been mutual as the apparent lack of follow up by the coaches may have been for a reason..??

It appears it was a mutual parting of the ways. This is an on-going process to substantially upgrade our in-coming talent.

Airline quarterback Connor Nichols will not play his college football at Southern Methodist University after decommitting from the Mustangs on Friday.

Nichols was recruited as a safety by June Jones' staff, but decided not to play for the Mustangs after attending a recent game.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Nichols still expects to play safety and has drawn interest from Louisiana Tech, Arkansas and Vanderbilt.

Verbal commitments are nonbinding and national signing day is in February 2010.

This article seems a little misleading. According to Rivals, he had a long conversation with the coaching staff as to where he currently fit in with the 2010 recruiting class and an agreement was reached that he should seek a new situation for himself where he might have a better chance of playing. We still have over 3 months to go until signing day, so this could happen again.

There were reports at our camp that he was repeatedly getting beat. I think the coaching staff had hopes that he may grow into an OLB but apparently we have cooled on him. There are still several really good prospects that have us listed high that we have a very good shot at landing.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Maybe a few more victories and a bowl game will help some of these top recruits decide in favor of us.

He sounds like a good athlete but I would imagine we are getting some better looks now from some athletes that we didn't really think we had a chance for several months ago...National pub helps the cause.....we just need to keep it up.....

I'm sure the growing fan support inside the stadiums that we have witnessed since the TCU game will also have a positive effect on our recruiting. Hopefully we will get a weekend somewhere down the road that does not overlap with another event, i.e. Fall Break or Texas/OU weekend, and then we can see an increase in our attendance numbers as well. If recuits start seeing fans responding the way they were in the ECU game, it is sure to have a positive impact on some of the more sought after individuals.
