SMU commit Johnson to take other visits
Quarterback Jeremy Johnson (Tyler, Texas/John Tyler) is putting together a terrific season for the state-ranked Lions. The 6-0, 165-pound dual-threat signal-caller is committed to SMU, but now has a host of other programs looking to enter the picture.
Programs from the SEC, Big 12 and Mountain West are heavily recruiting Johnson.
"I'm being recruited by SMU, TCU, Baylor and Rice," Said Johnson "My coach said Arkansas was by the school a little while back and they are interested,"

Would like to see JJ work his magic on this kid.
Re: Jeremy Johnson Recruiting Update
I think that Jeremy Johnson's info on the sticky will need to be updated soon, since it just says that he is a 2-star recruit with the only offer from Louisiana-Monroe. With the numbers he's putting up, I'd be shocked if he doesn't end up a 3-star with a list of good offers. It looks like SMU offered early, which helps...but hanging on to him will be a big battle. Still, the WR position is probably one of the better positions that SMU can fight off schools for (example: Darius Johnson last year).
Re: Jeremy Johnson Recruiting Update
It is nice to see SMU's recruits having other viable options. It is a sign that we are finally recruiting better football players. Too many of Bennett's recruits did not have many choices other than SMU.

Couldn't agree more. Recruiting top talent is an extremely tough business and you're going to win some and lose some. Sometimes you think you've won, only to lose. . .and visa versa. The only way to avoid that reality is to recruit players that no one else wants. Glad to see we're taking a different path now.
