So... Go Rice?
A massive upset by Rice could still get us into the championship

key word: massive
UH home game. Fairly meaningless for Rice and UH needs the win to secure the conference. You never know - but i think we lost our chance.

Yes, go Rice. But we just need to worry about beating Tulane at 2 p.m. this Saturday.
If things go well, then everyone can start checking the Rice/UH score beginning at 7 p.m. that night.

Re: So... Go Rice?
RICE WON last year !

Re: So... Go Rice?
I think it is more important to cheer for UTEP to beat Marshall, keep Marshall from achieving a 7 win season. SMU should beat Tulane, but if the unimaginable happens, there are already four teams with 7 wins with only six bowls, and unless Navy beats Army to open a additional 7th bowl slot, SMU has to hope the Bowl picks the team and not leave it to the C USA to assign teams. UAB can achieve a 6-6 season this weekend.

i think i read somewhere that navy doesn't even have to beat army b/c the ACC doesn't have enough qualifiers to fill the other half of that bowl and the bowl has said it would got to CUSA.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: So... Go Rice?
nothing will change with the acc this week
from wikipedia:
ACC
* 9 bowl slots available
* Eligible (7 teams):
o Georgia Tech 10–1
o Clemson 8–3
o Miami (FL) 8–3
o North Carolina 8–3
o Virginia Tech 8–3
o Boston College 7–4
o Florida State 6–5
* Cannot become eligible:
Duke 5–6 (Duke's win over North Carolina Central does not count toward eligibility because NCC is a provisional FCS member, not a full member)
NC State 4–7
Wake Forest 4–7
Virginia 3–8
Maryland 2–9

Re: So... Go Rice?
ACC can't fill the Eagle Bank bowl, but everything says the ACC spot is supposed to go to the MAC. However, multiple sources have quoted CUSA officials as saying the spot will go to CUSA regardless of Army's status....so maybe the contracts give CUSA first crack at an open spot before the MAC?
Other thing to keep an eye on today is Missouri-Kansas and OU-OSU. If Mizzou beats Kansas, KU is not bowl eligible. If OSU beats OU, the Big 12 probably gets 2 BCS bids. If those two things happen, the Texas Bowl opens up for CUSA as well.
