Maybe, but can you imagine the linch mob Bennett would have had to face is he started a true freshman over Bartel at the beginning of the season? It's easy to second guess, cause Phillips is cookin' thus far, but remember he's now had a whole half season of learning this offense. In all likelihood, he wouldn't have been as effective if he started earlier in the season.
