Pony Up, I have been trying to keep up with the Mustangs season and progress. I have posted a few times during and after the games.

We are doing great. Thanks for asking.

In response to your question...The QB does matter, I don't care what anybody else thinks!!! He is the leader of the team and the players counts on him to make the right choice. With the QB conflicts.... I still believe Bennett should move Hodges back to QB, he might be a great TE, however, what do you think the other TE recruits felt when a QB was move into their territory? I am sure Hodges can play TE and will probably do well at it, however, if he is a better QB ( a position in which it got him to SMU ) If the mustangs considering running the option.... I am sure Hodges was running the options for MHS... check out the facts on Hodges..... I did on the Mesquite High Football Website. I am not putting Phillips down being this is his first debut ( It could very well be Hodges )... I wonder what the result would be if it was Hodges!
BY the way the announcer sounds very excited when they announced Hodges name on today broadcast!!@!!

Sportchic: Hodges was not recruited as a QB. He played QB at Mesquite, but he was recruited for his athletic ability. He was told that right off the bat. He can run, but he does not have a division I arm.

Besides, players get moved every year at every school in the country. It's a fact of life. Maybe not to the position thinks is his best position, but for the betterment of the team. It's one of the prices of getting a degree for free - you play where the coaches tell you to play.

That's probably because we got a pass intereference call on Tulsa when they did call his name. By the way, what's up with this whole kick to go to the option anyways?

So not true. It doesn't matter who's playing quarterback if you are not able to do what you think is best rather than WHAT you are TOLD to do. There is a difference and PEOPLE you need to recognize. The problem is SOOOOOO not obvious to YOU!!!! :hmm:

I guess I am missing your point Joyous..........
Players must do what they are told as the coach is the team leader. That's not to say on a busted play you then have to wing it.

QB Phillips should have been given a better shot.

Yes, Phillips should have been given a better shot. I do not get it and maybe I am confused. So, since I do not get it I will refrain from saying anything else. Because believe me - I DO NOT GET IT. Thanks guys.

man, I don't get it either. The only explanation I could understand is if Phillips could somehow still be redshirted if he doesn't play a certain amount, but I'm told that its too late in the season for that. If Phillips redshirt is burned, he has to play a lot. Everyone knows that Wallis is not the future qb.

I don't think I understand what Joyous meant when she said not true? And the problem not being obvious. I didn't mean to belittle any particular player. I just made a vanilla comment. It really doesn't matter who tosses the ball at the receivers if they don't catch it. That comment was made right after a pass was dropped on third down. The radio announcer said the ball was right in the numbers. To me it is very obvious. Dropped balls mean missed opportunities, and it doesn't matter who threw it.
