TT Board says Adam James asked for release to come to SMU

(yeah you found the denial I did) but I've read other reports from Texas Tech beat media that say that is not true-it really is a sideshow issue anyway-Leach's disciplinary techniques precipatated the suspension. The strategy of the leach camp seems to be to raise these issues to distract attention from Leach's actions. Apparently, there are reports now of Tech players supporting Adam Jones now at least in response to the character assasination

Yeah, seems like it was a rumor earlier that is being dispelled. It is matter-of-factly mentioned on various threads on their board like it is gospel, though. Bunch of idiots. Trashy idiots.

You are absolutely right. some, not all but some, TT fools are trying to make this a Tech vs. SMU and ESPN issue. I have never heard about anyone at SMU coveting Adam James. I think he visited here his senior year, but I don't think we offered him a scholarship and I havent heard anyone suggest that we should offer him one.

Maybe he just wants to come to SMU, or another institution, to get a good education and has considered hanging up the cleats. Total speculation, but perhaps.

Arent you the one always railing on everyone for not being diehard enough or true fans? Here we have a situation where the son of an SMU great might end up at SMU, even if its just as a regular student. This could only be good for SMU and keeping the James clan close to the hilltop, not to mention he's a 20 year old kid just trying to get out of a crappy situation, and he could end up with a hell of an education right here at SMU. Who are you to tell him to go elsewhere?

Leach has made it known that he is VERY reluctant to grant release to athletes for other schools in Texas...it has happened, but it is one of the 'unspoken' themes, per my buddy at Tech.

Because of Craig James, the link to transfer AJ to SMU is an easy out for Tech folks...takes the heat off any alleged indiscretions by Tech, and puts it as an agenda from a disgruntled player.
