TT Players coming out in support of decision to fire Leach
ESPN just reported comments from Chris Perry, TT DT: "I have no complaints about this decision. Leach put Adam in a shed like an animal? Like an animal in a cage? That was bull. You call other players. I think it was a good decision. We have our pep back now. We practice hard this week. We had less stress this week. you know why? Because he's gone."

Giant fissures on this team. Can they get it together to beat MSU with 11 suspended players? Will they be able to hold on to their recruits? Who will be the next head coach? Will the players try to murder one another in their sleep?
I would hate to be Gerald Myers right now. I have ragged on him for hiring Bobby Knight and Leach in the first place, but I have to give him credit for taking a stand with the Pirate. I am not sure that Leach should have been fired for what he did to James, but if he were my employee and he failed to apologize after directed to do so, he would be gone immediately. Way to go Gerald.

I want to hear from the Tech kid who looks like he is jerking off ringing the bell. Based on his statement, I will make a final decision regarding this situation.

The Center just put out a statement in support of James as well.
"There is no question (Leach) understood offense and understood football. But he didn't understand how to deal with people. Everyone is excited about this to be honest. Adam (james) took a stand. We have no idea why he was in a shed. How could you punish a kid for having a concussion? What could that possibly accomplish?"

This situation is too complicated for the average Tech fan to understand. Living in isolation the way they do puts an "us against the world" mentality into their systems. Leach was wrong. Had he apologized as directed by his boss he would still have his job.

Re: TT Players coming out in support of decision to fire Leach
Gerald Myers just removed a GIANT thorn in his side...the down side is that Tech fans are ANGRY, and could care less ( largely ) if Leach mistreated a player...it is about WINNING.
The issue for TTU is damage-control on an incident that has been (is being) poorly handled.
Selling this pig to the fans/alums is going to be a public lesson on image and story-spinning.
See the part of the play about much hand-wringing, threats, and Gerald stepping aside after the next coach is named.

Now the Tech boards are discussing the possibility of a defamation suit by Leach against the James family, and maybe ESPN as well.
These guys are hilarious!

Re: TT Players coming out in support of decision to fire Leach
they could sue James but since everything I hear is that he truthfully reported the incident which was was determined to be accurate-that lawsuit borders on frivolousness. I haven't heard anything else James might have said to defame Leach-on the other hand Adam James was crucified by Leach, his attorneys, coaches and fans-and they have I believe much bigger potential liability for defamation. You guys that believe all the trash that was thrown on James really don't understand what was going on here. They threw a kid under the train just so nobody would focus on the real issue which was Leach's conduct. All you loyal SMU Fans that dump on Craig James make me sick-and its part of why I could really do without about 98% of you.
