Nah, I lied. Rumors where swirling around the internet, a la' Mike Price, but I guess not true. Sorry.

the Alabama/Tennessee rivalry is always good for rumors about widespread cheating going on in both those programs. I do hear from my 'Bama sources that they are very concerned about "more to come" in the 'Bama investigation and they are worried about getting the death penalty. There are some very high profile 'Bama and Tennessee boosters at each other's throats right now. I'd be surprised if it all came out.

The death penalty given to any BCS team would be the death of the NCAA. The BCS is under siege from Congress and a greed cartel acting as a monopoly will not willing subject itself to any reduction in revenues. Bama gets the death Penalty and the BCS will bolt.

Don't expect to see the death penalty again till somebody like Centenary College gets caught doing something like buying a recruit a chicken fried steak at Murrell's.

With the BCS stuff going on, the NCAA won't even do much more than slap the wrist of any bad dude (except of course SMU). By the usual NCAA double standards Fresno basketball should have gotten hammered by the NCAA. They hired Tark which meant that they flipped a big bird at the NCAA to start with. Yet, they got off remarkably light. Watch the penalties to the Baylor basketball program. That program is death penalty eligible. But watch, they'll get one post season in the dog house (which they wouldn't make anyway since all their star players transferred out). No Alabama and Tennessee might miss a bowl game, but that's the only stick left to the NCAA other than the DP. ABC would never allow them to DP Alabama.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
