Austin (Westlake) DB Louie Swope has decided not to sign with SMU after learning that he would be grayshirted at SMU.

Walking on at Texas A&M from what I read.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

You stole that off of scout premium. Thanks for sharing.

They probably offered him a greyshirt due to the ACL injury and recovery from the surgery. Good info PP. Lots of action tonight and tomorrow.

Good luck to Swope. But this opens up a much needed scholarship. Most of the current recruits were on board before SMU's winning season and Bowl game, now the stakes are higher, SMU can go after a higher caliber player. JJ is bringing in a lot of DBs, equal to or better than Swope, so all is not lost.

He saw the writing on the wall and before he was lost at sea he chose the better route for him to be with his family ( brother) while he walks on as a preferred walk on and/or grey shirt at TAMU which is easier ( read cheaper) than at SMU. While I really hate TAMU he made a good choice as the fast DB's with experience we are getting give them a leg up on this early commit.

Not sure if that was a consideration...for many in Westlake it is not. Then again for many it is. I think TAMU will work out well for him, and wish him luck.
