Women's NIT
So assuming we do decently in Tulsa, will we get an at-large NIT invitation? Current RPI rank is 63. Didn't do a whole lot of digging into standings.
Re: Women's NIT
I think the chances are pretty good. The NIT and WNIT seem to include reputation of the teams and/or coaches in their selection process, and we have that on our side. I don't know that we would host — attendance plays a big role in that — but I would bet that barring a second-round exit (after our first-round bye), we'll get at least a WNIT bid. Sure hope so.
Actually, no I don't. I hope we end up in the NCAA Tournament. If we don't get there, THEN I hope we get that WNIT bid.

We play the UAB-Tulsa winner tomorrow night
Re: Women's NIT
They would have to win the conference tourney to get into the NCAA tournament. If Tulane wins the conference tournament, the next placed team in the conference gets the automatic bid to the NIT - that would be Houston. SMU would have to get an at-large bid to the NIT, which most definitely will happen since the RPI is in the 60's, not to mention the fact that the NIT increased the tournament to a 64-team tournament.

So win conference tourney = NCAA tournament
Lose during the conference tourney (even in the first round) = I'm about 99% sure they'll get an invite to the NIT
NCAAs is obviously my preference

And that would now be known as UAB. We owe them after a 2 point loss there in the conference opener.

I'm glad UAB won ... we're better than they are, and you're right — we owe them.
Not that we can't beat Tulsa — we beat them last week — but I wouldn't want to face them on their own floor.
