An open letter to GOD

Post by Spaz »

Dear Lord, Maker of all things Good (breakfast burritos, Classic Rock, Dollar Draft nights) and Evil (8am classes, TCU fans, and a losing season),

I haven't asked for much since I've been here, and you've given me so much. Good looks, unbridled charisma, and the ability to drink more than my fellow man, but I must ask for one simple request. It's not for me, per say, but for all my friends here at Southern Methodist University.
CAN WE PLEASE WIN A GAME THIS SEASON?!?!?!
It can't be that much to ask. Look, we've got Rice coming up, and that would be the PERFECT time for you to pull a "miracle" without causing too much attention. All you have to do is
a) Bless the SMU team
b) Strike dead the Rice Team
c) Think up an option, you're creative. Look at the Platypus!
Now, if you pull this off for me, I'll be REALLY good for a while, but you can get more out of me by doing this:
LET US BEAT TCU!
First off, they have OBVIOUSLY made a deal with the other side, making them the enemy. And nothing would emberass them like a loss to us. I think I speak for everyone on this board when we say we will do WHATEVER YOU WANT FROM US if you let us beat those cocky You Damned idiots.
Feel free to respond at your earliest convenience. I know you've got a lot on your mind.

Signed,
The Spaz

PS. Thanks again for the PlayStation2. Good move, there!
WHERE'S MY KETCHUP?!?!?!

Hear the words of the prophet (is that profit?)from Mt.Olympus for mortals' ears - Inasmuch as Spaz has failed to offer sacrifices upon the altar of Walker & Rote; and because the ponies have broken the sacred commandments of the NCAA; SMU must wander through the wilderness for 40 years before entering the promised land of football respectability. As penance for shoddy hiring and restrictive admissions, the mustangs must go 0-12. All can be forgiven if a large enough sum is spent on big time athletics. Amen.

I second that nomination so long as Johnney Rock starts talking in the Third Person again.

GoRedGoBlue misses him.

According to Jim Reeves, God favors frogs. Of course at one time God considered frogs an appropriate plague - right in there with blood, gnats, flies, dead livestock, boils, hail, locusts, darkness and death to the firstborn. Pretty stiff company.

I don't know...MizterTea's follow up was pretty good too. Perhaps Spaz and MizterTea ought to win as a duo.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

The Brown Hornet enjoys when Johnny speaks in the third person, it makes The Brown Hornet chuckle.

Aggies have always invoked Psalm 75:10. However, as foes of the tcu 'horned' frogs, I think we also have a right to "I will cut off the horns of all the wicked..." as well. And hasn't He? When's the last time you saw a real horned frog? They may as well have chosen the T-Rex as a collective.

Spaz, make sure that deal is with God not that other guy with the tail and horns. Come to think of it, that sounds like a horney toad.
