Look who's working out for the Mavs...

Post by Eye In the Sky »

Mo Faye...of Georgia Tech!

Email Print Comments By Jeff CaplanThe Dallas Mavericks began a six-day process on Tuesday of bringing in draft prospcts for workouts. The Mavs have six players scheduled today, including Texas A&M guard Donald Sloan.

Others expected to workout today are: Duke sharpshooter Jon Scheyer, 6-foot-10 power forward Mac Koshwal of DePaul, 7-footer Chas McFarland of Wake Forest, 6-10 power forward Michael Washington of Arkansas and 6-10 power forward Mouhammed Faye of Georgia Tech.

Sloan, a 6-3, 205-pound combo guard from Seagoville, averaged a team-high 17.8 points and shot 36.4 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. He led the Aggies to four consecutive NCAA tournaments. He is not projected to be drafted, but will likely get a shot to play on an NBA summer league team in July.

I guess they prefer the younger Faye as opposed to the one that we had.

That's disgraceful, especially considering Bamba Fall's uncle (or whatever he is) works for the team and the fact that they TRAIN IN OUR FACILITY.
Get it right, Mavs.
They should be embarrassed.

I believe someone said Bamba's uncle is no longer with the organization. I could be wrong.

That said, one could make the argument that Mo' has a better shot if folks think he's from Ga Tech as opposed to SMU

Yes, Bamba's uncle, Gallo, works for the Mavs. I believe he's their director of international scouting or something like that.

It wasn't the Mavs who made the mistake on Mo. It was ESPN Dallas. Matter of fact, in the video posted on the Mavs website, they had some very nice things to say about Mo.

Doesn't matter if Gallo is there or not. For the Mavs to not respect SMU enough to get that right is inexcusable.

Again, the Mavs had nothing to do with it. They got it right. The writer for ESPN Dallas screwed it up.
