Keylon's YPC

Post by braginator »

I know he is "our one shining star" but it is interesting to note that out of the top sixty eight running backs in the nation in total yards, KK is last in yards per carry with 4.1 (tied with a number of other runners)... :hmm:

On the other hand he is still alive so he's got that goin' for him- that's a team (as well as coaching) statistic in this case

They should come up with some new stat to factor in how many defenders are in the box. For example, take Tatum Bell (OSU). He averages 6.2 against 6 and 7 man fronts. That would be a defender-yards/carry rating of 40.3. Shaud Williams (Alabama) would have something like a 34.3. KK gets 4.1 against an average of a 9 man front. That would give him 36.9. This would allow comparison of running backs taking into account the fact that the defense knows what is coming with some offenses.
