Karim York - BBall recruit?

Post by The PonyGrad »

Surprise player
Karim York (Austin, Texas/Del Valle)
2011 PF 6-8, 185 | AAU team: ATX
York got our attention right away with his constant activity, great skill and matching length. He is a terrific driver from the high post area and can knock the open 3 without hesitation. York is thin but welcomed contact in the post with his left-handed half-hook and turn shot. He is a good opencourt ball handler for his size and a good enough passer that can hit the open man. This wiry lefty works for rebounds on both ends and can block shots with good timing. York was a treat to watch make plays. He is hearing from Virginia, UTEP, SMU, Texas State, Texas Tech and Santa Clara so far.

Coach Doherty seems to like recruiting lefties (Papa Dia, Mike Walker, etc.)
Sign him up.

We're on York, and most every other kid locally. It's just a matter f getting it to pay off now. August is absolute crunch time in hoops recruiting. Need to get some kids on campus for elite camp, then OVs for home football. Package up these kids, get them talking to each other. Get Cotton active w/Jarion Henry at Kimball. Pull out all the stops.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

FWIW, just heard from a very reliable source that we currently lead for Karim York. Close the deal, Reggie!
