Hubert said before Monday’s first practice of the year that he paid attention to fellow Brenham defensive back Jeremy Hall’s challenges last month when Hall, who signed with SMU in February, was denied admission to the university despite being an NCAA qualifier and receiving no prior warning that he may not be accepted to the school. Hall has since signed a scholarship with the University of Texas-San Antonio.

He says he is still committed so no cause to panick.

Best thing to do is to get him admitted asap.

While I didn't like the way SMU handled the situation this summer, was it really without warning? I thought it was his second or third appeal?

he retook the ACT well after signing date. Close cases can't be calculated on sliding scale until end of spring semester. It is overstated. Any number of persons should have told him-including high school coach, SMU Head Coach, SMU assistant Coach, SMU admissions. He knew he was in at lest admission jeopardy or he wouldn't have taken the post signing day test

He was still NCAA qualified, got accepted to UTSA, the second largest university (29,000) in the University of Texas system, with over 50 advanced and over 20 doctorate programs. There were a number of these late "testors" last year and they got in without the drama.
