So do we credit that as an ECU voter trying to give the conference a bump, or does he really believe we're Top 25? Anyone know his story? There's a chance he's an ECU/CUSA fan given the paper he writes for.

That was my assumption when I saw where he was from. Gotta be the beat reporter for ECU. I doubt an ACC guy would be paying close enough attention to SMU to rank them in the Top 25. Interesting we are the only C-USA team he's got ranked. I like this guy.

Giglio, who does a thorough job covering the the A.C.C. for the News and Observer, also acknowledged that he was a bit of a free spirit when it came to voting. He said his preseason votes were based more on who he thought would win the national title than who was the best team in the country. He adjusts them from there.
