Cleaning Service

Post by ponyguts »

So how soon does Bennett call up the janitor and have them clean out a few offices? Hopefully very soon. Also, through the grapevine I've heard some coaches might do their own cleaning and decide to leave. Either way I think changes will come soon.

Bennett said during a mid-season press conference that he had "complete confidence" in Larry Edmundson's ability to put together a game plan, but that he was limited in what he could do with the guys we had available. In that same press conference, he went on to acknowledge that we were out-manned by every team we had lined up against. I only saw the UTEP game and it saddened me to say I thought the Mineres had more team speed than SMU, but I think Bennett will stick with his guys until they have the horses to make them look like better coaches. If we have two more quality recruiting classes and this team can't compete by the time we join CUSA in 2005, then I think Bennett will have worn out his welcome. Unless.until that happens, he's still the guy that is going to get this wreck turned around.

What do you know, Sam?
The attitude dictates that you don't care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays. I mean whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'. Now when you got that, then you have the attitude.

just hope any assistants leaving doesn't adversely impact recruiting. it's time to be selling SMU to guys ready to come in here and compete for playing time right away.

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Ringo was a good recruiter-but whoever has been working Oklahoma is the man.(Gush??) We snagged some guys in OK. last year that will be good.

Yeah one of your two best recruiters was fired to make room for someone who obviously didn't do his job, but is getting to stay in another position. And the recruiter that recruits Oklahoma is Roarke, not Gush

Ringo was supposed to open a pipeline to SMU from Coppell (and surrounding areas) that never materialized. From what I've heard, Coach Roark and Coach Jerry Bennett are the hottest recruiters. I'm glad we kept them, and I have confidence we'll add two quality assistants.

I wish Coach Ringo and Coach Miller the best, wherever they end up.

No question someone was going to be thown on a sword but Edmonson was not allowed to put in his plan,,Ringo is probably the most liked coach,,and the line has improved and shows much promise. Go figure!

Roark coached the defensive backs in his first year and he proceded to take the strength of our defense and turn them into the worst defensive backfield in the WAC if not the nation. Last year he was reassigned to defensive ends and he coached them to 4.5 sacks this year and the worst production post death penalty. Yea I say he is a keeper. Gush gets to keep his job? This was the worst defensive unit I have ever seen for a Div 1 school. And don't give me that crap about being a young team. We started more seniors than over 50% of all Div 1 teams.
