PROHIBITION ENDS!!!!!!
this has really been one of the stupiest laws on the books especially for those in the North Dallas area-let's send all our tax revenue to Addison and force people to drive to Addison (or other wet areas) to eat at the decent restaurants which generally need alcohol sales to suceed. What's even better is that the beer and wine industry are the ones funding the morality police

Re: PROHIBITION ENDS!!!!!!
When I saw these election results roll in last night, I had two thoughts.
1. Yay for common sense.
2. When does the 7-11 on Hillcrest across from the north quad dorms file that permit to start selling beer? Talk about a license to print money.

I want to to say the University had an agreement with the two 7-11's right next to campus not to sell any alcohol. This could be total urban myth perpetrated by the SMU Morality Police though.skyscraper wrote:When I saw these election results roll in last night, I had two thoughts.

What the heck kinda question is that? Have you ever been to a football game in Texas?Pony_Fan wrote:football related?
I have always thought this law was so antiquated. Absolutely dumb that because I live in a "dry area" I had to drive into a different part of the same city to buy beer/liquor. Doesn't matter to me too much know because we are right on the border of Richardson and the beer store is super close. It was just odd.

Turner sent an email to the mayor asking that stores nearby not sell beer. I bet he is on the take from Parkit MarketStlhockeyguy02 wrote:I want to to say the University had an agreement with the two 7-11's right next to campus not to sell any alcohol. That dude also filed a lawsuit to try and stop the election and was in charge of raising money for the vote no campaign.
I wouldn't worry about him filing another lawsuit.

When I moved to Richardson Texas 30 years ago I walked up to the Kroger check out with a 12 pack of coors and a cheese cutter on a fall Sunday. Was refused sale of the [deleted] cheese cutter by way of the blue law, no problem on the beer. I love Baptists as I grew up one

Re: PROHIBITION ENDS!!!!!!
It's a joke. I'm taking a shot at him based on his record of coincidentally sharing the company line on a number of things.
