Dear Athletic Department
Why can a relatively small-time athletics program like William and Mary get seven minutes' worth of Richmond game highlights posted online by Saturday night, whereas we still don't have any video highlights posted of any game since Tulsa?

Why can they also get highlights of their penalty-shootout soccer tournament win posted with similar speed, but SMU has no highlights posted since the regular-season match against Tulsa?

Am I missing something? This seems like a no-brainer.
P.S. If you're not going to put up "highlights" of the Houston game, that's fine, but please at least take out the "First Place on the Line!" promo video for SMU-Houston. It should have been gone at kickoff, but certainly by the end of that debacle.

well in defense of the department, they are putting out a half hour TV show every week, something i'm sure W&M isn't doing.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: Dear Athletic Department
Actually, that's a great point. Perhaps 'The Climb' could be mentioned somewhere on the multimedia page.

Re: Dear Athletic Department
It could be the fact that William & Mary has six full-time media relations staffers while SMU has two.
Couple that with the fact that SMU had 10 home events this weekend (football, men's soccer, two volleyball matches and six men's basketball games, and I’d say they had their hands full...

SMU produces and acquires the time for The Climb to be shown on CBS college sports. The Climb is also available on YouTube.

Re: Dear Athletic Department
That's kind of a weak excuse. William and Mary has a $580 Million endowment roughly half the size of SMU's. It manages to field teams in 21 sports (compared to SMU's 18). And manages somehow to have 6 full time media staffers. Yes, its a state school, but is the bastard step-child of the Virginia University system. The best school academically, but never gets the funding that Wahooville gets or Hokie high gets. The school was basically abandoned after the civil war and was barely operating from 1865 to 1920 which is why it has so low an endowment (given its age). And the campus suffered a lot of damage from Hurricane Irene a few years back. It is roughly the same student body size as SMU. W&M only recently started a glossy alumni magazine. Before that it was newsprint. It also has something else in common with SMU. Jim Copeland was its AD at one time. Oh, and hot off the presses. #2 Seed in the FCS Championship. If they win out, their football team goes to Frisco, TX for the national championship game.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Re: Dear Athletic Department
I am always amazed that Universities including SMU do not hire students who have the web page skills to update their athletic pages. I am sure there are an abundance of students with the skills who would love to have a job that would give them access to the press box and a little money. No need to hire a full time professional employee.
Re: Dear Athletic Department
their videos seems very clear and well produced. I am guessing it is student run, who knows.

As long as we are at it,my dear santa letter would also ask if there is any standby plan for travel to a post season game? conf champoinship game? i know, one step at a time, but airfare around christmas and new year's day can get tricky....especially to the rose bowl(joke).

I wouldn't count on it. And the travel packages the school did offer last year for the Hawaii Bowl were WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overpriced and didn't even include air transport, just ground and accomodations.
As many others on here could attest, it was cheaper and easier to use Travelocity/Priceline to get somewhere.

Re: Dear Athletic Department
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
Re: Dear Athletic Department
Pony Scott, look at the soccer thread as to my loyalties. Go Mustangs. And if Peruna gets a chance to kick the Griffin in the nads, a healthy percentage of W&M alums will not be upset.
