2011 is Kaiser at QB

Post by StallionsModelT »

Padron has seriously regressed. Lets get a kid who can actually run an offense.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Padron had an up and down year, but he can make the plays. DO NOT pull a Bo Levi and bench a good upperclassmen in favor of a true freshman who doesnt throw alot of passes even for his high school. Padron is fine, did you notice the pocket collapsing on him all day? We got whipped in the middle.

Competition will be good. I just don't see Padron as the long term answer.

Maybe JJ needs to go back to Run N Shoot 101 rather than the complex one. Luckily SMU had Line this year or it would have been pretty ugly. Nice stats but points on the board was pretty bad.
We need to be putting up Tulsa pts in the 50-60 range. This offense had a bad year in terms of points on the board. The Hawaii game was the only game I saw during the JJ/SMU era that was somewhat impressive (despite Nevada's absent players)

I've always heard JJ say that the best QB for the team will play QB.
I still notice KP (who I do like) staring down receivers.

Defenses have picked up on that and are getting jumps on his passes.

I think we will be surprised at how much better KP is next year with a deeper offensive line.

normally i appreciate what you post, but this is by far the stupidest [deleted] thing youve ever posted.... from what ive heard our walk-ons are better then him. Not to mention Preston is probably going to be ahead of him on the depth chart come august. have a whiskey my man.

edit: we had walk-ons working 3rd string while Kaiser was playing scout team

I wouldn't worry about it-it again going to happen. And we'll be damn glad we stuck with Padron.

We have three good QBs who will battle for the starting position in the spring.

I think some of you guys would be well off checking out McCoy's second year stats. Sophomore QBs have a history of slumping as the offense is opened up. Padron will be fine, IMHO, but the spring competition will bear that out one way or another.

The problem is June's Offense not Kyle. We also need some JUCO receivers fast.

I've also heard Kaiser isn't as good as touted, but hopefully he improves. Kyle's going to be the man and I agree with Stallion, he'll be just fine

You're making a huge assumption having never seen the kid play or at least play at this level.

Padron had a rough day, but his OL and the Army blitz didn't help.

As it stands now, Conner Preston has a much greater chance of unseating Kyle for the start vs. Kaiser. There is a reason the coaching staff pushed hard for him to graduate from HS at the Christmas break (so that he could enroll for the spring semester here in January).

We will have a great battle to win the QB position for next year. I bet we. see Padron win the spot. It would be real nice to have a Jr or Sr at that position for a change.
