Some Good
We made it to CC
We were in another Bowl
Unfortunately, Ws matter.
Our players never gave up. With that attitude, they will work hard to improve - and we will be better.
I know several people who started coming to a few games this year who will be back more frequently next year.
The AFB:
I heard a lot of visitors say positive things about SMU - campus, facilities, team, etc
It was special to see our service men and women and the various recognitions of their service throughout the game.

Re: Some Good
My wife, who has FAR more history with bowl games than I do, thought that the AFB was among the best she had been to in terms of total experience/presentation.
Stallion doesn't think I'm a stinkin' genius anymore.

Re: Some Good
The game day experience was one of the best that I've attended in years. Sound and video were pretty good, see all of the men and women who are going to serve, are serving, or have served our country was awesome.
My only disappointment (besides the loss) was the lack of afterburners on the fly-over.

Re: Some Good
The loss hurt but I don't think we harmed our future. Go effort by the team (especially the D). Great game day atmosphere. Imagine a recruit that wondered the campus before and after that game? Talk about a plus!
Two years ago we were 1-11. Now we play for the conference championship and go to a great bowl atmosphere on our campus. NOt a bad year. Wish we didn't end the year with a two game losing streak but the overall results are still positive.

While I was very saddened at our loss, I was pleased with the overall situation. Another bowl game. More tv exposure. Some great d moments and more dj receiving. Just about a human highlight reel. The stands looked pretty good, and love the attention to SMU. More tools for JJ to get kids on campus. For a December day in Dallas, it looked about as good as it could have been. I remember many days on campus at that time with snow on the ground. It is getting better, and better.

The LT Dan Band helped me to recover. They were not bad.

Despite the outcome; I had a tremendous time yesterday: it was great to see how the gameday feel has evolved - this being the first game I have been able to attend in years (it is a long way from Dayton to Dallas). I enjoyed seeing all the new buildings on campus since my last trip to SMU (in 2006), and my wife was quite impressed by the University on her first (but not last) trip to SMU.
My only complaint: I would have liked to see a win with my own eyes this season!
Only 3 games were televised where I was this year - Tech, TCU, and the conference championship.

Re: Some Good
Nothing but positive came out of this - both experience & learning. I definitely didn't lose any sleep in the loss whatsoever. Another bowl can only help recruiting & that's the name of the game. However, I wouldn't be a little bit surprise that the speculation about JJ interviewing (or at least listening) to MD may have caused some issues for the team. But then again, you can't take the service academies for granted anymore & that also applies to SMU. Look at it this way, the service academies got a head start on us in both coaching & recruiting.
I'm so use to rooting for the service academies that - in a way - I won even though it was against SMU. Yes! Go Ponies & go Military!!!

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
