Frazier Moves back to DE
Is that too much to ask?
Nothing against Margus and Taylor. They definitely look the part. However neither seem to make many plays on defense.
Margus is still learning the game and Taylor is regularly a step away from making a big stop.
Frazier is more athletic than both and we're wasting his talent as a muddler in the middle. Stick Margus back in the middle and let him create a pile as Frazier makes plays on the QB.
Also after watching that Bowl game replay tonight, there are a number of key 3rd downs that failed due to poor execution by the DE/outside linebacker/Smart(losing contain position). Disgusting.

I hope he does move back to DE.

change won't be made unless someone else steps up at the NT position.

T Thompson didn't make big plays on defense? Were you watching the same team we were?

Re: Frazier Moves back to DE
Not so sure Frazier was all that great at NG. What makes one think he will be any better at tackle? Perhaps he needs more time to learn the NG position. Bouncing a player all over the field is a recipe for failure. Why not move him to corner back since we had some issues there?
A kid can't learn the position well if he is moving positions all the time. Put a kid in a position and give him ample time to learn that position. Either he learns the position and performs at that position or he doesn't. But moving a kid all over the field just cause one isn't happy with the performance of other players only weakens the kids chances for success. Let the kids that are playing tackle compete with the current starters for that position and let Frazier have the time and coaching ad practice to become a premiere NG.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen. Particularly if we see Torlan Pittman back, who (from what I hear) is in fantastic shape.
That would put your 2-deep at DE as some combination of Thompson, Frazier, Hunt, Grenier and Czerniak and your 2-deep at NT would probably be Pittman and O'Guin?

You do realize that Frazier was moved from DE to NG because we were short at NG right? From your rant it sure doesn't sound like you do. This thread was essentially proposing to do what you are advocating, which is to put/keep Frazier at his natural position.

Re: Frazier Moves back to DE
I'm told the plan is to move Frazier back to DE, regardless of who is in the middle, whether it's one of the returning guys or maybe even a newcomer.
A four-man DE rotation of Thompson/Frazier/Hunt/Grenier would be pretty stout.

Pittman? Is he expected back? I thought he had some pretty serious legal problems.

if he's acquitted or doesn't have to serve any time, he'll be back.
