CORVALLIS - Oregon State added eight freshmen to its football roster as winter term classes began Monday.

The additions include 6-foot-7, 305-pound offensive linemen Darryl Jackson, who signed with Southern Methodist University last winter but did not enroll at SMU. He indicated during the summer that he planned to instead enroll at UCLA, but then gave a verbal commitment to OSU after a campus visit last season.
