By the way, I spoke with coach Giles today and he informed me that SMU is also very interested in Jimmy Morris, LB, 6'1, 205lbs, 4.62 forty, 300+ on the bench, vert. 30in.
Jimmy has been ranked on several top 100 boards already as one the states top LB's.
So far Jimmy has one offer from Iowa St., but look for that number to increase after he camps at A&M, TCU, and SMU.

We cover Brent Slaughter on our Austin Area Prospects site.

By the way, Coach Rob knows what he is talking about regarding the kids he referred to. He's a legit source.

Coach Rob -
What can you tell us about Corey Ford? Size/stats? Does he remind you of anyone, or play like anyone that we've heard of?
Thanks for your insight -- all PonyFans appreciate your thoughts. Keep them coming. (Incidentally, what teams are in District 11-5A?)

Corey Ford is 6'3, 250lbs, runs a 4.85 in the forty, vert. 29in., bench 285. Corey had 50 tackles, 8 tackles for losses, 3 hurries and a fumble recovery. Geoff Ketchum from The-University.com said that Corey reminds him of Leon Lett because he moves like a big cat on the field. District 11-5A: Skyline, Carter, Kimball, Bryan Adams, Molina and North Dallas.

Thanks Coach Rob!
Any other 11-5A players SMU fans should keep an eye on, who might have a chance of ending up on the Hilltop?
Do you have any idea what level of interest Corey Ford has in us?

As for any other 11-5A talent that is interested in SMU, I'm not sure. However, we have a DB who is very interested, Tim Stone.
Tim is 5'10,170lbs., 4.58 forty, bench 265 and vert. 28in. Tim started for us last year at FS, is being recruited as a cover corner.
Tim has great footwork, makes big plays, and is very intelligent on the field. He is also the vocal leader of the defense. I was informed by SMU coaches that they would really take a good look at him at camp in July. The big plus is that Tim has good grades and has already qualified. As for Corey, his interest in SMU is very strong, in fact his mother calls the coaches at SMU often with questions and she really wants Corey to attend SMU.

Hopefully Corey's mom will be a big player in his decision making. Bring him to the Hilltop!

Maybe Corey Ford's mother's impact will have the results equivalent to those of Craig James' girlfriends back in the hey-day.

Ford - What a great name to play in Ford Stadium - Great Marketing potential.

We jus called Brent's house and he is attending a day camp at Texas A&M this afternoon. We'll try him again later this weekend and find out his thoughts on all of the camps he's been hitting.

SMU '06 is right -- we could have Billy Ford leading the offense and Corey Ford dominating on defense. Would make the name Ford on the front of the stadium seemingly have nothing to do with Gerald J., despite his generosity.

Any further word on additional "campers"? Sure would like to see more linemen, although we'd be off to a good start if those mentioned are impressed by what they see in July!
