out of town for the game and didnt have to witness UTEP destroy us on our home field in our conference opener. Just by reading the threads on here I can only imagine how bad UTEP beat the [deleted] out of us. I am scared to even look up the box score online and I deleted the game off my DVR. And then for June to go out on the 50 yard line and wave that lei around while he is kicking Peruna in the sac and flipping off the alumni band, nothing short of disgraceful. On top of that to try to make 18 year old kids wear uniforms that they think are cool, tell JJ to ask Oregon how that has worked for them. We as fans need to let JJ know that he has another thing coming if he thinks 2 bowl games out of three years, facility upgrades and plans for an indoor practice facility is going to help him keep his job. We did fine the two decades before June and will be fine when he leaves.

you forgot to mention that we played so bad our fans couldn't muster more than a casual golf clap.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

If you remember to wash your balls before and after you get busy on the course with you partner; you might just avoid the golf clap. Ponyup^.

Re: Im glad I was ....
Come on ebrooks....this isn't about winning one game at a time. This is about a BIG TIME program at SMU this year and I mean this year!!! All the mental giants on this board can't be wrong. All the preseason hype, the talk of Top 25, and the idea of us joining an AQ conference tomorrow....please tell me they were right. They are so smart and have so much experience coaching BIG TIME college programs, tell me they were right....tell me they were! Is it possible that we just get to go to another bowl this year and are just slightly better than last year. Well.....that's just unacceptable. I'm ironing the dress blues.

Re: Im glad I was ....
It's true that perhaps some of us (me included for sure) have over played the doom and gloom. But the reality is, this team is far from the hype it received leading up to this season. We want to win C-USA, and that looks really tough right now. Oh well, at least contending for that title is better than being a bottom of the barrel team.
Re: Im glad I was ....
I was at SMU during the Pony Express years. It was Ron Meyer's 5th season before he had a winning season and got to his first bowl game. Things were bad when he took over, but still it was better than what PB left JJ. (Not a PB hater, and it certainly wasnt all his fault, but we couldnt compete with Arkansas State for Heaven's sake.)
Re: Im glad I was ....
How many people are going to come on here and defend this team? I expect more than squeaking by a bottom barrel team. We're paying JJ $2.5 million to do everything mentioned in the first post. The stench of mediocrity has permeated so deep with the fans on this board. See you at the Armed Forces Bowl for the next decade with our .500 record earned against sub-.500 teams.

2.5 buys us bowls and a hope for the future. We have 10 games left this season.
Re: Im glad I was ....
This has to be the post of the season, so far. Lol. Great job.
Re: Im glad I was ....
the o is doing ok with jj. he only threw four passes last year. he will only get better as the year progresses.
the d is struggling.
margus is outstanding.
i like the name june. one day we are going to miss him terribly. the whine and cheese crowd will really have something to whine about then.

Re: Im glad I was ....
Bottom line is we WON the fricking game...I think we will end up with 5 losses and that will land us in a better, higher bowl than last year.
Chill out and be glad that " SMU " is back from the dead! Pony UP~
