5 interesting facts

My 8th grade daughter has a school assignment where she needs to present 5 interesting facts about SMU. Her TCU friend is already done. I am hoping with some pony fans collaboration that we can provide her some bullets. Please let me know your facts. Thanks

Thanks. With a little research I am getting some interesting ones, most of them I know though.

Alum Bill Faggerbakke is the voice of Patrick Star on SongeBob Square Pants.

List of alums include Kourtney Kardashian, Jack Ingram, Kathy Bates, Eddie Coker, etc

here are 4 additional interesting facts:
1.the LED was invented by a SMU ALUM (Gary Pittman) -
2. the SMU geology department has a RED PHONE to the department of defense - all seismic disturbances are monitored by SMU to determine if they underground nuclear explosions -
3. the pom pon squads were first started at SMU ("Herky" Herkimer) -
4. Notre Dame's first football home game in their present day stadium was against SMU -

an 8th grade girl would find it interesting that a Kardashian (courtney) went to SMU.

even more interesting is that a buddy of my younger brother puked on her in the back seat of a car in taco bell drive through after a Beta party

I puked in an ashtray in the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel. A lady probably in her 70's leaned over to my date and gave her some breath spray for me to use later. AHHHHH the good old days. But I guess this would not be a top thing.

One of my friends who was a Beta told me about that a few years ago. Guess it really is true.

I'm embarrassed to admit I looked it up, but it appears KK went to SMU for 2 years before transferring to Arizona, where she graduated.

No interesting facts list would be complete without Tim "eater x" Janus, 3rd ranked competitive eater in the world and world record holder in canoli and cupcake eating. Tim was a President's scholar and member of the class of 99.
