Would there be any interest on the hilltop in UT's Gilbert?
He had surgery on this shoulder on Tuesday. Got demoted to third string. If he gets a redshirt, my count would have him with two seasons left. June loves his reclimation projects.

At this point why not? Padron and JJ don't seem to be the answer. At the same time we don't really know much about Kaiser and Preston, but it wouldn't hurt to have someone who has played in an actual national championship leading the team (regardless of his epic downfall) :p

But that's 2013, who knows if he'll even be ready as a true freshman either. We will need an "in-between" QB.

That kid sucks. Recruiting services totally missed the boat on Gilbert Grape.
Back off Warchild seriously.

GJ Kinne was terrible at UT as well, till he got to tulsa and let them to top 25 rank last year and BCS points...

why wouldn't there be interest?
speaking purely theoretically, even if you brought him in doesn't mean you have to hand him the starting job.

Whats that harm in gauging his interest. He has a good arm and is use to playing against top competition.
PONY UP!

He'd be a great QB for us if he wants to transfer. He didn't redshirt in 2009, so he could sit out next year and then come in and potentially have 2 years left to play (assuming a medical redshirt for this year is granted).

He is a Lake Travis kid, so he has that going for him.

plus the other UT backup Sneed led Mississippi to a great season. I'd take him. Too many conclusions drawn about inexperienced QBs

If the kid was unable to comprehend Greg Davis' offense then there is not a chance in hell that he could be able to handle June's Run N Shoot. And considering how much everyone on here complains about the # of ints thrown by KP, JJ, and the Gunslinger over the past couple years I can only imagine what it would be like if we had Gilbert. Heck the guy threw 17 ints compared to 10 tds last year.
