Poor TCU
From 1999 to the present they did everything possible to become relevant in major college football. They did everything right while we did everything wrong. They left us for a better conference in the MWC. They won bowl games, including the freaking Rose Bowl! They finished #2 in the country while we established a comfortable home in the bottom 10. They put players in the NFL while we put players in corporate America. They worked their arse off for 12 years to finally get invited to an AQ conference, and their reward - their hated rival, their cross-town whippin boys get the same invite less than a year later.

Re: Poor TCU
Believe me, I would rather do it the TCU way than the way we did it.
Re: Poor TCU
Plus TCU is in the Big XII and will have an easier time selling out their stadium.

Tcu in much better shape. They're saying poor smu
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

I'm a hoops guy, so I don't see it. Pack Moody, bring on Gtown, Marquette, UConn and the rest

Re: Poor TCU
Sorry LA_Mustang don't usually disagree with you...TCU could give a flip about us and they are happy as can be going to the Big 12. Its not poor TCU, they are probably saying we got sloppy seconds, even though they didn't go all the way with BE.

Re: Poor TCU
Sorry, i did a bad job of making my point. Not doubt that TCU is in a MUCH better place right now, it's just got to rub them the wrong way that we get an invite to a BCS conference after only two and a half years of marginal success when it took an unbelievable 12 year run by them to finally get an invite to a BCS conference. Of course it has everything to do with timing and the insane, unstable landscape of college athletics today but still.....they did it the right and we've kind of backed our way in.

Until they start losing 5,6,7,8 games a year. TCU will not just roll through the Big 12 like they did the MTW. Trading OU, OSU, UT, KSU for UNLV, San Diego State, Colorado state and BYU will not be easy.
I can't wait....

Got ya...we are just quick studies!

There is no way frog wanted S.M.U. to get in any AQ conf. whether it's the bevo 10 or
The Big East, they want us to stay 10 steps behind them.

Re: Poor TCU
The potential was always there, it just took us about eight years longer to figure it out. I assume we owe Orsini for finally getting this to become a reality. And I have little doubt that if we continue to head down the same path, we'll share a conference with TCU at some point in the near future.

Re: Poor TCU
1. In the short and mid-term, TCU earned the preferred opportunity, i.e. strong regional AQ FB conference.
2. The Frogs will outdraw us for a while
3. We still need to expand Ford with a deck on the east side.
4. I love our BB future, if in the BE
5. When is the renovation of Moody shovel ready?
6. IPF still a priority
7. Other capital improvements needed, i.e. new Natatorium, upgrade Westcott, etc.
8. Consider adding other sports, such as Men's Track & Field/CC, women's lacrosse
TCU deserves credit, as we do. They earned it over the last dozen years, while we had the bigger hill to climb. This week both schools should feel very good about their situations.
