In tighter focus, SMU’s pitch: “However this shakes out, we want to be in a conference that automatically qualifies to the Bowl Championship Series. The Big 12 makes the most sense regionally, but it’s not the only way.” Indeed not. Now, SMU is poised to accept membership to the automatic-qualifying Big East, which went shopping after Syracuse and Pittsburgh fled and TCU flipped to the Big 12. It appears to have settled on SMU, Houston and Central Florida for all sports and Boise State, Air Force and Navy for football only. Turner and Orsini played their cards masterfully. They argued that a city as large as Dallas should not be without an AQ-conference school. And SMU would give that conference an important foothold in a television- and recruit-rich market.
Big East need to hurry up and get this done or they should have stayed quiet. If they would have added the teams a few weeks ago it would have been praised, now other networks, news stations, and blogs are having time to dissect the moves and tear them apart.
Slightly off topic and probably already addresses. With TCU to the Big XII-II-I+I and the Aggies off to the SEC, Does this mean UT has to decide on either TTU or TCU for the big Thanksgiving weekend rivalry game? They have played TCU for more games I believe.
And does this mean we will get a real fall Thanksgiving weekend game against a more northern team?

they're in negotiations with Notre Dame.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Really disappointed that they didn't mention our attendance issues, lack of marketing issues, players statements that home games are Pee Wee Herman like atmospheres, nee for black uniforms, big horseys and admission standards. Kinda sucks having some positive press for a change.

I'm looking out my window to see if pigs are flying.
