Just went to visit their rivals site, and they are taking out their anger on the Big East and trashing schools like us, UCF and even Houston.
Just an example of the venom:
This Big East will stay in tact for TWO MORE FULL SEASONS....This isn't something that's happening in the Summer of 2012...its a VERY FLUID situation...and because of UL's media market and having been Kragthorped, we aren't the BEST available option, but we are a very good option from that angle, we are a rising football program again, and we have one of the best resumes across the landscapes of college athletics in the country...
We aren't going to be playing in the [deleted] Big East with teams like SMU, Army and UCF...we just aren't....Louisville athletics is much larger than any of the programs being tossed around and if this conference were to take place UL would be the elephant in the room that was just dominating everyone...Jurich won't let that happen and he's got two years to fix the problem...Let him.
Do you really think Tom Jurich wants to see Louisville football playing crap [deleted] programs like Army and UCF on Tuesday night games? No...Do you really think Rick Pitino wants half of his conference basketball schedule made up of [deleted] [deleted] basketball programs like Boise State, Depaul, UCF, ECU, SMU, Houston, and BYU? No...
Louisville will be in a BCS league...Give it time.
Man, they really hate Kragthorpe! Remember when he was one of the top candidates on our list?? Can't believe they trash someone with parkinsons so badly.
Funny. Someone should tell them to cross off Boise State for basketball, that's football only deal. Oh, and Boise is going to donkey punch Louisville (the elephant in the room) in football.
Now from the homer perspective in me. Those remaining BE schools better watch out. Some of these new schools, UH and SMU, have access to recruits that they could only dream of. UH would already roll most teams in the BE while recruiting in a non-AQ conference. They improve their recruits just a bit and they are going to be damn good and respectable.
If the BE goes forward with its plan to require schools to sign over their media rights to the conference later in the year, Louisville will be there for a lot longer than 2 years.
Pop Quiz: What conference was Louisville a member of in 2005, and what level of program were they considered then? Don't hurt yourself thinking too hard.
Whoa! this thread has a lot of new information-it says that the Big East has agreed to let West Virginia go in 2012 in exchange for 22 Million. Anybody have a confirmation? I wonder if that means SMU gets pushed up to 2012 too so they can play a Championship
