VIDEO: Taylor Reed on suspension ... and return

Junior linebacker Taylor Reed, the SMU Mustangs' leading tackler this season, was back on the practice field with his teammates Tuesday after serving a one-game suspension. (Reed declined to elaborate on what he did other than "shutting [defensive teammates] out during the Southern Miss game" to earn the disciplinary action.)

Reed visited with PonyFans.com to discuss how he learned of his suspension, how his teammates reacted, what it was like to watch his team play Tulsa without him ... and his thoughts about his return to the playing field.

He does understand, Taylor is a very passionate kid that plays with intensity, the only way he knows to play the game, he got caught up " in the moment", you can clearly see the personality change on D and the entire team last weekend with TR not in the game. Taylor is a really good kid, proud of him being a bit humbled but don't take away his biggest attribute and that is his love and passion to play football the only way he knows, which is good by me.

THIS is the guy I want to go to war with ... one of the few on this team with FIRE and we suspend him ... idiotic ... we'll see how the D responds with him back ... hopefully this takes nothing away from his fire/aggressiveness on the field ...

I like T-Reed's intensity and his passion. If he does everything at 100 MPH and doesn't always see how he jumped the tracks, I'm OK with it when he has teammates like Chris Banjo, Torlan Pittman, Victor Jones and his other friends on the team to rein him in.
