TUFF SPOT WITH NAVY

Post by ALEX LIFESON »

Navy is 3-6, with SMU, San Jose St, and Army remaining on their schedule. They would need to win all three to be bowl eligble. From their view point, pretty doable, but making our game a must win. This will be a tough, physical, dirty, cut blocking, nasty game. We'll see how much "stomach for the fight" we have. Beat Navy!

It will be a brutal game, because it will either be us dominating or they will dominate us. Just really depends on one thing, if the team that beat tcu, 1st half of tulane comes to play then we will dominate, if its the team that we saw at usm and tulsa, we will surely lose. Hopefully this being a home game, people will show up and we can finally beat this team that we continually lose to. If we win this will hopefully be the wave needed to take on cougar high

Cut block, cheap shot is right. Have respect for the sacrifices to the country, but not much for how they play the game. All kinds of bs in the trenches and downfield after the whistle.

How are you supposed to run and bell with out them we need noise

I wanted a pump up jam during game time like USM has it felt like I was at a college game. That money formed into a good ticket pro mo but not what we need in the stadium we need noise! !!

SMU shut down Tulane's rushing attack...but it was Tulane.

In all of the wins against top 50 rushing attacks JJ put up huge numbers. In the losses he was lost and awful. I would think the lack of balance in Navy's offense (not that it isnt always this way) and weak defense should favor SMU. SMU has done a pretty good job against the run so far. The third quarter meltdown against Tulane was largely the result of the secondary giving up big plays. That wont happen against Navy

Navy is 3rd in rushing and last in passing. I think Pony wins by a few TDs. JJ should pick them apart. Look at the numbers Austin Davis put up against Navy.

Yards allowed against good rushing teams:

Loss: Aggie: 212 yards rushing/ ranked 19th in Rushing
Loss: Tulsa: 177 yards rushing/ranked 32nd rushing
Loss: Southern Miss 180 yards rush/ ranked 22 yards rushing
Win: TCU 150 yards rushing/ranked 16th rushing
Win: UCF 110 yards rush/ranked 46th rushing
Trey was using the powers of Gamehendge to allow the show to continue, to give the band the strength it needed to help break through this barrier
