wow seriously, just own up to your failure on the offense including the other poor offensive games.... I mean I would had some respect if I heard, "Yeah wasnt a great game, ill be studying hard in the film room, try to do something different then the horizontal pass game, and learn to play in other than perfect weather conditions (which I dont know how today didnt qualify as perfect weather". You might have a decent pass completion but it was all side passes and the receivers made the yards. The only passes that were vertical were overthrown or intercepted.

In the second half, there were 2 nice passes over the middle to Wilkerson and one overthrow to Thompson in the Navy end zone. That was about all the shots we took downfield as far as I can recall.

He completed over 70 percent of his throws and wasn't pleased with the way he played. I don't think he should be that pleased with his performance, either, but this game was hardly all his fault.

i am really disappointed in this interview.....he was still in uniform and maybe he needed some time to reflect, but he did a really bad job on his long passes and has caused june to eliminate that option for the most part....and i could not tell if he really has any interest in tryting to beat houston....sad interview of a defeated kid...

Teammates have likely lost confidence in him, nothing to play for at this point except pride.

Isn't it obvious? The body language of everyone on this team is flat and lifeless, conference title is out the window, Hawaii might be out the window. These guys have been zombies for weeks now.

31-0 in one half does not look like zombies even against Tulane.

Coming back for a late TD does not look like zombies either.

It's Tulane, and they played like crap in the 2nd half. As for that late TD versus Navy, those should have been happening all game long considering how Navy was playing them. Our players are zombies right now.

These players have no excuse for being zombies or giving up. I get it that its upsetting to lose a chance for championship and their bowl game possibility. Thats a one day cry myself to sleep then get back up and work hard and stay motivated throughout the season. I mean there is no discipline, and Jones said he wants to make them men on and off the field, then do it. I mean this is pathetic to become zombies. After So. Miss they should of been like wow that suck im sad, go to bed and come out saying I want to crush Tulsa. They think way too much into the future rather they should be like Im fired up for our next game. I do believe that ever since this Big East, possible top 25 ranking got into their immature heads and let it get to them. You know what they should do beat conference rival houston, not #11 Houston, not undefeated Houston, but btho conference rival houston. Right now, as most fans are, Im burnt out this season, and Im just ready to listen for BE news, our recuriting class and next season.

I feel the same way, even the bowl doesn't excite me that much since we might not be going to Hawaii.

I know, and I was pushing for ticketcity bowl and now im like with this performance we deserve to play non-aq team, and now it might not even go to hawaii and Im like ok i can go to the bowl game but its will be an extremely depressing one.

Alumni11, I agree that the players ought to be fired up and be prepared to beat houston. That is what big time athletics are about. I am NOT burned out on this season. Or any since I can remember. I will not give up on SMU or our kids. I hope and think they should feel the same. Now as much as ever, we as fans have to believe.

Oh believe me, come saturday, im going to be on the edge of my seat unless its 21 point + deficit. Just how I feel after the game and the days after. Ususally on Friday, Ill be like we can take Houston, etc. Just from playing sports though, it kills you as a player (now fan) when you dont see effort and drive. I could really careless about skill and talent. Theyre nice but they arent what make the game. What makes the game great (for any sport) is determination, how much do you want to win and how are you going to do it with your teammates. I just dont see it out there. I just see quitters (excluding a few, such as Zac, which I hate hes on this year, I wish he were a sophmore so he could taste BE)
