Maybe This Has Been Our Problem
This is the one thing I hate when you discuss firing head coaches after a couple of losses. The thing people forget is we are dealing with kids to young adults that can be easily distracted with off the field "things". These are not professionals, as much as many think.
Louisville Head Coach Charlie Strong blames his teams lack of focus on the new Call of Duty video game distracting his players during the week.

Sad commentary on today's young men and women. Use to be that women were the major distraction for young male athletes. Looks like poontang has taken a back seat to video games.
Sad. Just sad.
Sad. Just sad.

Dare I say it, the concentration has been transferred from the Y-box to the X-box.

The Y-box has more upside than the X-box but a lot more potential downside. Society teaches you to make safe domesticated passive decisions, no suprise which box they choose.

Re: Maybe This Has Been Our Problem
When Oregon built their new facilities they made it a point to show they had video game consoles to play in the locker room. They seem to be doing ok this year. Mike leach blamed fat girlfriends, this guy blames video games. Coaches always need a scape goat, this may just show he is completely out of touch with his players. Good luck recruiting if that is the case.
Interestingly, the rise of FB video games have allowed coaches to run more plays and more complicated plays as video games have allowed players to become more familiar with a wide array of formations and plays they would otherwise not see.

This closed practice rule for the public is misdirected. June and his crew need to be on the lookout for fat girls hanging around Ford who are carrying an X-box. They're the enemy.

I know a kid that should be playing pro ball that played video games instead of going to class. He didn't pass his classes. Guess he forgot.

Dude this couldnt come at a worst time, 3 big 360 and i guess PS3: MW3, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Halo: HD+...
In all seriousness, players need to be focused on football, academics (especially at our school), personal and business relationships (in case you dont go pro), then free time (video games, hobbies, etc). I mean its sad, but I can help but think how many times I have run into this conflict especially now,

You speak my language. A night with Skyrim is more magical than a night with a girl.

Close for me but not the same, game is pretty freaking awesome
Was at the SMU engineering school last week and they said that they had some of their grads work on the development of Skyrim.
