Is It Just Me?

I am very excited about the future of SMU football. Our biggest weakness right now (QB) will be our strength in 2 years (Burcham, Gilbert, Printz, Preston ... wow!). Our defense showed how it can play today (and actually has been pretty good throughout most of the year) and our best players on that side of the ball still have at least 1 year left (JG, T Reed, Acker, Davis, Hunt, Sanders) with some young talent in the wings. Our receivers are getting upgraded each year (Jeremy Johnson will start next year, Holman has been injured and will be back, Holleman is learning, Thompson is already very good with Marks coming in and Stewart and Lewis as change of pace backs if/when they sign).

I predict this year will be our worst season for many, many years to come. Maybe my attitude is biased by how bad we were when I went there (1989-1993) but I would LOVE to be a student there right now. This is the best SMU football has been in a long time and things will only get better and better.
