So I'm reading through these threads. . .

. . .and here are the messages I'm getting:
1. June Jones is nothing but an ungrateful lying dirty bastard who has no honor and would gladly sell SMU down the river.
2. The above is totally and completely unacceptable because June apparently OWES us something other than a winning football team.
3. Accordingly, the best course of action is to fire June immediately, just as we are preparing for our bowl game and right in the middle of recruiting season. That way, we can have the pleasure of embarking on an HC search at an extremely convenient time for the program. It'll be great. . .the new staff will have a roster full of players recruited to the RnS system who will get to adjust to a completely new system and they should have at least 2-3 solid weeks of recruting time to put the finishing touches on a new class of RnS recruits who will be asked to play in a new system. And to top it off, Turner and Orsini will get to go to the CoC and ask for a multi-million dollar check to hand June as he walks out the door. I'm sure the CoC boosters will be thrilled about that.
4. Adrian Klemm, on the other hand, is the savior of this program. If he goes, we're finished. The DP will be nothing compared to that calamity. All of our recruits will scatter to the four winds and we'll be playing FCS ball in a year.
5. In order to stop said calamity, the prudent thing to do is to fire June Jones immediately and make Klemm our head coach. Of course, Klemm does not have any HC experience, or any coordinator experience, or really very much coaching experience period. But that's OK, because we want our next coach to have to learn how to be an HC on the job. Nothing produces Ws like that (See Phil Bennett).
Folks, I was as pissed at June on Wednesday as anyone. I really do think the timing of the ASU mess and how it rained on our Big East parade was unacceptable and needs to be addressed IN PRIVATE. But we're starting to sound like a bunch of Aggies here.
Take a deep breath. Its time to move on. Whatever needs to happen at this point will be handled behind closed doors and away from the media, which is exactly how it should be handled.
One other thing. . .coaches come and coaches go. I can assure you that Adrian Klemm will leave SMU when the right opportunity comes along. Get used to that idea. We're lucky to have had him here while we did. But if you think Klemm is or can be made into an "SMU Man", you're deluding yourself. And when he goes, we'll wish him the best and move on. The model is in place for this program to succeed going forward. That is not dependent on any one person.
