June Jones haters

Post by GRGB »

I realize we went to a wedding and saw our wife at the alter say "I do" to another man, only to have the other man walk away...

...recall the GP at TCU went to visit the chapel more than once in the past 9-10 years and how'd that turn out for them? 2 BCS bowls and "missed it by that much" on a third this year.

This might end up being for the best. Time will tell.

GP was a candidate for other jobs but you didn't hear of him recruiting against TCU. What happened last week is very bad.

you don't know that, pure speculation. the recruits could have heard he was going to ASU and switched. not unheard of actually.

Actually when June came here he pulled BLM and Banjo to SMU when both had committed to Hawaii. I am not backing June on this situation but I am just saying it may be more to it than just that.

Sorry, but using the word "haters" makes a person seem like they are in the sixth grade.

please. some common sense please. One of our recruits committs to ASU when they dont even have a coach and he wasnt on their list - then de-commits right after June "decides" to not go there? I think that evidence is pretty strong. That is the single biggest disappointment for me. That and walking all over our Big East news. The timing could have been delayed 24 hours. As for the weekend - I can understand if a big job comes calling you have to respond to their time frame, so anything other then about 24 hours is probably not reasonable.

The bigger question is how this will be used against us in every recruiting conversation anyone has with one of our prospects for however long JJ is here. I would do that big time if i was an opposing coach - i would wear that sucker out. That is what has me thinking this needs to be "fixed" in about 90 days.

the evidence is that the recruit was following jones, not that jones "convinced" him to decommit

That's what the SMU administration and legal team need to determine with clarity is if he did this on SMU time/property and using SMU resources. If it should find that to be the case, then it needs to be determine if that's a breach and subsequent dismissal with cause.

Then why didn't he commit to SMU when Jones said he was staying and happy to be here? He was still Jones.

GRGB - i think you have blinders on if you cant put this together. It is not a reach. You can choose to shrug it off - but hard to say they were not already in re-direct mode and had to slam on the brakes.

Whiplash? The kid just switched. Who knows. The same could be said for why didn't the kid recommit to smu if he was so easily talked into going to asu. That he didn't come back arguable better supports my argument.

I bet you 5 kids switch to ATM from Hou and there won't be one peep about how sumlin "told" the kids to switch.

There doesn't have to be coercion for a kid to follow who recruited him.

Everyone on timid board knew he was interviewing w asu on sat, why couldn't the kid read bw the lines?
