What is it with folks all of a sudden being positive about SMU football's future?

Is it just me, or does the article begin with a reference to SMU athletics spending "three years in the wilderness"?

Those have got to be the longest three years I've ever experienced!

Not to be negative because we need more positives but he probably meant 30 years and "in the wilderness" was probably taken from media reports quoting TCU's ad about them wandering in the wilderness since SWC broke up and finally finding the promised land. I don't think conferences pay for marketing depts at individual schools. Mustangs on the rise!

Yes, I'm sure he meant 30 years. I realize its just a student newspaper and I don't mean to nit-pick, but the DC articles I've seen posted on this board really need tighter editing and proofing before they're published. There are a lot of bad gramatical errors and typos that give the articles a schlocky feel.

Not directly...but here's an equation for you.

SMU Athletic Budget in Big East = SMU Athletic Budget in CUSA + More Money

And Steve-O has already indicated that More Money = Marketing Department
