A&M would be by far his best offer yet, he gone.

can only hope it depends on whether he wants early playing time and what he wants in a college environment

Believe A$M already has 5 OL commits including a 4 star.

Our ranking would be atrocious without Myers. He by far my favorite recruit just by the fact that he does not like Gary Patterson. It would be a huge loss. Hope he stays.

apparently neither he nor his family have been Aggie fans so maybe he just can't cross that bridge. I know I never would.

This would barely budge rivals points, just an 8 point drop to lose a 3 star when you have no players giving bonus. Or are there a bunch of teams within 8 points behind us so we would fall in rankings a lot even with an 8 point loss?

That said, would be a big loss in terms of the thing that matters, talent. Just not a big hit to the class points.

Was thinking we got bonus points for him being a ranked but I can see he needs to be top 40? Do you not get any extra points for him being a 5.7 rated 3 star?

Seaver: when you visit A&M, remember the SMU campus and the city of Dallas. Then take a look at the Aggie campus and College Station.

A&M has some good academic programs, but SMU is a sensational school, and it's an amazing place to live. Make the right choice. Pony Up!

No, bonus points depend on national ranking either overall or at the position. Have to be ranked above x at the position to get points, top 40 for offensive tackles. So seaver at #59 offensive tackle does not get bonus points.

Only players committed to us (permanently or temporarily) in the last couple of years who provided bonus points were Moreland, levingston, marks and lewis. Each of those provided 8 bonus points for being ranked higher than x (but lower than 5th) at their positions. Should point out that when I say 8 bonus points that is points that feed into a formula to determine how many points each of the top 20 recruits in the class provide, not 8 points on the overall total. The impact would be much more than 8 points on the overall total.

Here is a discussion of the formula if you are interested, it is somewhat ridiculous.

Hopefully he will make note that we will most likely have 2 offensive linemen drafted into the NFL this year so he can make it there from SMU. Also, he will have a much better opportunity to showcase his talents at SMU early. I am of course prejudice but it is a no brainer from my perspective.

bottom line is that with all of the guys we lost from this year's OL, we can hardly afford to lose another OL recruit.

I guess the good news is we have only 1 senior next year (Collins), unless McJunkin gets another year?

Pretty thin with only Free, Emshoff, Favreau & Hughes in JR class, Duhe & Miller as Sophs and Lasecki and Weeks as RS FR.

Right now only Myers and Briggs on the "commit" list

OL is suddenly dangerously close to looking like it did in the Cavan/Bennett years

JJ is using a new recruiting philosophy this year- it's called the limbo rock recruiting routine. You see how low you can go on getting quality recruits. Dropping from a 30's rating to a probably low 80's rating is doing pretty good for his first year with that system.

I guess you misread it, said several family members went to A&M but he was a UT fan
