ESPN Article on SMU Commit Neal Burcham
Talks about how some players are really undervalued, ie Burcham. Biggest recognition for this kid was finishing as one of the best QBs in the Elite 11.

Great read ... Not sure it will stop the nay-sayers from piling on the current recruiting class.

I'm glad he's flying under the radar. I like the competitiveness that he brings. He'll be a great QB for us. According to ESPN, he's also the highest recruit we have. Frankly, this is a great recruit.

I don;t think he can be consider flying under the radar after he won MVP at the Elite 11. I can see why he would be the highest rated player we have.

He is a great recruit, no argument there. The problem is with the class as a whole not him.stl.pony wrote:Great read ... Not sure it will stop the nay-sayers from piling on the current recruiting class.

As well as who the coaches are aiming at. I hope the staff aims higher and recruit harder as whole and just put it on JP shoulders.

"I want to be the best there is," said Burcham. "If other schools didn't see that, then I'm going to work harder to get noticed at SMU."
I'll take him.
I'll take him.

good article. I have seen Patrick Towles play several times here in Fort Thomas and his going to be a great catch for Uk. Big, fast, tough, with a great touch. I was really amazed how little attention he got.

Re: ESPN Article on SMU Commit Neal Burcham
let's all remember that Padron didn't have a lot of options coming out of H.S and now some are in mourning over his decision to bail out on SMU.
while we can all look at how many programs are offering kids and know whether we got someone who (statistically at least) should pan out and contribute, you can never be sure who is going to surprise...especially at such a critical/demanding position as QB
we can only hope Burcham proves everyone wrong and SMU is the beneficiary
bottom line is that it's good to get a QB in every recruiting class who you expect to compete for playing time. The real trick is being able to keep 2-3 capable (and healthy) guys on the roster. When was the last time that situation existed at SMU?

I feel like scouts penalize him for his hair being all over the place. No Eddie Printz style crew cut.
