Jason Phillips and Recruiting
I doesn't appear Phillips was able to lure recruits from Houston. And if anything, after his departure and the departure of the head coach, they (Cougs) did quite well. How can this be explained (both our lack of luring and their success)? Just curious

Re: Jason Phillips and Recruiting
bottom line - they had a great year, ranked in top 10, big games on national tv, could have gone to BCS game but for USM loss, beat penn st, heisman type qb numbers, etc.
We have a year like that, and we should snag some top guys too (i hope)

Re: Jason Phillips and Recruiting
he had an extremely abbreviated recruiting window here. to expect him to have a significant impact was not a reasonable expectation.

Re: Jason Phillips and Recruiting
A significant impact was not anticipated. However a reasonable expectation was that he would bring in one or two of his recruits. Abbreviated recruiting winfdow? How about the new Rutgers coach who lands a 5* with less than a week as head coach? Very disappointing performance by JP.Junior wrote:he had an extremely abbreviated recruiting window here. to expect him to have a significant impact was not a reasonable expectation.

Houston landed a 5 star as well in Greenberry. I just wonder if JP knew about Greenberry.

Yeah let's run him out of town-I've heard of straw men before but you are looking in the wrong direction -what about the 7 other remaining Coaches who had an entire year and blew

Kyle Flood is the new Rutgers head coach. Don't have details as I do not subscribe to either rivals or scout.

Perhaps Phillips decided to do the honorable and honest thing and did not contact any recruits he previously had contacted for UH. If he and JJ decided that, I say more power to them.

They have coaches who can recruit and we don't. Phillips tried to get some UH recruits but there was no interest on their end.

You should never use the words ethics and integrity when talking about JJ- that is an oxymoron.
