For future Recruiting Roundups it might be good to try to ask them for their GPA's, ACT, and SAT scores if they have them so we can see who is likely to make it into SMU. Just a suggestion.

I would find it hard to believe they would release that type of information.

They do if asked sometimes. Some you see it in some newspaper articles when the players are interviewed. Again just a suggestion as it usually becomes public sooner or later anyway but I just it would be good to get the early word if possible.

I am not as underwhelmed by this class as others. Seems we got some good players for key positions.
Re: PONYFANS.COM 2012 RECRUITING ROUNDUP
Let's just hope the players for the key positions make it into SMU.

Maybe the best Roundup yet, which is good because I was really hoping to get no work done for the rest of the week.
Thanks for all you guys do.

Re: PONYFANS.COM 2012 RECRUITING ROUNDUP
I agree with Ponyte that this class might be a little better than generally rated especially if Garrett Gilbert is included. If and when Gilbert enrolls at SMU and if he plays he could be a special player. He is a much better athlete than any QB who has been at SMU lately. As far learning the offense, Padron, as a true freshman and with a short high school resume, came in and did pretty well after replacing the starter. I would expect a player with Gilbert's talent, if he plays and with his experience and maturity to pick up the offense quickly.
One thing that gripes me though is that when looking at the heights and weights and forty times, I suspect they are mostly inflated badly. Line is probably only six feet and unless his forty time is wrong he is too slow to play RB or LB and too small to play anywhere else.

Outstanding work on the roundup. Sounds like some great athletes and very fine young men.

Great class this year! Cannot wait for these players to develop into studs. Guys, what ever happened to Davon Moreland?

Re: PONYFANS.COM 2012 RECRUITING ROUNDUP
If you add all those actually coming in by September, including Longoria, Holloway, and Gilbert then I can agree that this is the best class yet!

Edit: and downgrade past classes for those that either did not qualify or show up for whatever reason.

Great roundup! Thanks PF! I'm definitely not going to get any work done today now.

Thought this was an interesting quote from Lagasse. Guess he plans on getting a head start developing some chemistry.
I know Garrett Gilbert — his younger brother and I were teammates. I know Garrett can’t throw for another month or two, but when he can, we’ll be out there pretty much every day.

Re: PONYFANS.COM 2012 RECRUITING ROUNDUP
I kind of checked around on Moreland-not on signing date list for UNLV as rumored. The beat writer responded that he didn't think UNLV Coaches were interested in response to a twitter question. Also saw rumors Oregon St may have a shot but not confirmed on their boards. At this point he may just have to head to JUCO and then graduate. This is pretty much internet rumor stuff and I don't vouch for accuracy.
