Colin Spencer Woodrow Wilson
How do we get our coaches on this kid. He scored the second highest ever at the Nike Sparq combine. This kid is somehow extremely under the radar. He is really only receiving attention from Baylor, La tech and Tulsa. He doesn't even have a rivals or scout page.

It is a little surprising that he is not getting more attention. However, he is white and about 5'9". Plus, Woodrow is not the most well known school being in DISD and all. So he has to fight those 3 stereotypes that are out there.
He is the type of player who would do well by going to the different camps. My only real knock on the player is that he said that Arkansas is his dream school. That leads me to believe he may have poor decision making skills. I don't think Arkansas has had a white DB since the 80s. He should go to a school that is comfortable with that which would include the schools he is looking at plus schools like TCU and probably SMU as well.

Considering that they're only one of 3 DISD schools within the past decade to have a kid(Anthony Randolph) be an NBA lottery pick...Lincoln(Chris Bosh) and Kimball(Acie Law) are the others..., I'm pretty sure they're well known. Plus they had a pretty solid team that had the misfortune to run into the buzzsaw known as the Kimball Knights in the Regional Semis.ThisIsOurTime wrote:It is a little surprising that he is not getting more attention. We are talking football here. Woodrow also has the distinction of I think being the only high school with two heisman winners. However, it is not known as a football hotbed for recruits or a dominant football program. The DFW pipelines include schools like Skyline, Euless Trinity, Southlake Carroll, Desoto, Duncanville, and maybe Carter, Lincoln, SOC, etc.Peruna_Ate_My_Rolex wrote:Considering that they're only one of 3 DISD schools within the past decade to have a kid(Anthony Randolph) be an NBA lottery pick...Lincoln(Chris Bosh) and Kimball(Acie Law) are the others..., I'm pretty sure they're well known. Plus, DISD schools have the reputation of churning out players that have trouble academically or have off the field problems. Obviously, this is just a perception but Woodrow gets dragged into this whether it is fair or unfair. Woodrow still sends a couple of players to Div I each year or every other year but they are not a dominant football program.
In this case, though I think these other teams should be giving this player a closer look because he would be going up against some solid skill athletes in DISD competition. Usually it is the line play where DISD is deficient compared to other Texas high school programs.

I think Sergio Kindle (UT/Ravens) and Greg McCoy (TCU) are Woodrow grads.
Here is a recruiting nation video that mentions the kid around the 2:30 mark:

Dallas grew east to White Rock before it grew North. Woodrow Wilson was the original Bubble and has a simply amazing alumni list

Give the kid an offer on measureables alone. Can't be worse than the filler we end up with at the bottom of every class.
