Where do we stand for 2013?

Post by No Quarter »

I hope someone with access to Rivals and so on will respond to the following.

How does SMU match up against traditional Texas opponents, CUSA, and the BE so far as football offers, commitments and players showing strong interest is concerned?

Is SMU currently "top thirty" in one or more of those categories?

As its St. Patty's day, lets just say we may be a wee bit behind the other lads in Texas. Maybe the good Mr. Stallion could set the record straight.

The real question is how accurate have those rankings been?

Pretty accurate.

I think it's safe to say we're tied for last in the nation in terms of commitments.

Well, hello, yes. And IMO a key measurement of the AD's performance, although I'd give him good marks in some other areas. But that has been discussed in othere threads.

In all fairness, they have picked it up, especially in Texas (earlier and far more local than under Klemm). Lots of offers out there. Sounds like Phillips is already making an impact. Throw enough darts at the wall and some will stick.

Rivals is cheap... join up and see what's going on. Every Friday you get a thorough update and every day you get some good info you don't get here.

Yes, seems like many more offers and earlier than last year. Also, on the Big East Board bbs there is a thread keeping up with 2013 early commits for the whole NBE. Not many have more than one or two.

I am suprised that nobody has given a review of Junior day. Especially PP. What kind of turn out? Who was there? our major prospects show up? etc.

Wasnt the justification for doing it so late was that there would be no conflicts? If no one from the Texas Top 100 showed up I say we need a recruitment strategy intervention!
