Re: DMN 2012 season predictions
8-4 regular season would be pretty good. I don't get how the DMN can predict a CUSA title game loss & TicketCity Bowl loss when they don't even know who you'd be playing. Just seems kinda dumb to me to say "SMU would lose to UAB if they won the East".

I think their prediction is a loss to UCF in the CUSA title game. I guess they assume we'd play a Big 10 team in the TC Bowl and lose.
GO MUSTANGS!
FIGHT ON!

I'm not that convinced UCF is gonna be in the title game.
Re: DMN 2012 season predictions
Although there are some big shoes to fill and SMU has several question marks by some important positions, 8-6 is too safe. 8-6 would be if we lost every game that seemed to be close on paper before the season began. Assuming the defense can make adjustments, a good offensive line to replace last year's (as reports suggest) and strong quarterback and receiver replacements, no big injuries, etc. 9 to 10 wins is a more likely outcome and, with some luck, the possibility of an even better season then that. Therefore, I predict 10 wins...a steep hill to climb for sure.

9-3 regular season.
2-2 after first 4 games is OK with me.
Finish 9-5 but hopefully split the CUSA championship game and bowl game for 10-4.

That's what I'm thinking. That would be a great season.
I really like this team. The depth in the skill positions has never been better post-DP IMHO. The schedule is brutal though.

This is when the boys become men. Go Mustangs!!!
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: DMN 2012 season predictions
The only thing SMU seems to be lacking is heart and leadership.Remember that 5 game winning streak THEN BAM soutern miss curb stomped us and we were never got our act together after that. Our skill players should be better QB should improve alot after mederment the Def impressed me all of last year and i dont see how takes a step back my only concern is the O line.
