Beasley earns free agent contract

SMU receiver Cole Beasley said Saturday night that he has agreed to a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys, who will look at him as a receiver and return specialist.

I can't believe TCU's huge DE, Braylon Broughton, didn't get drafted on "measurables" alone.
Signing as a free agent with the New Orleans Saints. I bet he makes their team, too.

Remember Jeff Fuller, the big WR from A&M? At the beginning of the year, some people were talking about him as a potential first-round pick, maybe a top 10 pick.

He went to the Miami Dolphins ... as an undrafted free agent.

What happened?

He had 70 catches and 26 dropped passes. 26!!!!

Qb's have a hard enough time getting the ball to the receivers, if you are dropping it over 25% of the time you aren't worth much.

i remember Beas dropping that pass against Tulsa his freshman year. i was completely unimpressed with him at that point.

that was the last pass i recall him dropping. the dude has serious skills. he's not big and flashy. he doesn't have homerun speed.

but he's going to be where a QB expects him to be when he is supposed to be there. any he's going to catch it 90+% of the time.

he's not going to be a guy you scheme against any given week, but he'll be the kind of guys that can drive a defense nuts. and make his teammates love him.

If you hadn't brought it up, I wouldn't have remembered the drop against Tulsa, and I'm like you: I can't remember him dropping a pass EVER.

Go get 'em, Beas. I wish you went to a team I didn't dislike so much, but I'll always root for you to enjoy great success. Good luck!
