Football...?
Isn't it great that we are even talking about SMU's basketball program with the kick off of the football season coming up soon? This is refreshing to a guy who has had season tickets for both sports for many years. Ya gotta love the national visibility and exposure.

What a difference a couple of weeks makes. I noticed the we'll never get a coach, this process sucks, leadership is a bunch of morons crew have shut up in exactly the same way they did when June Jones was announced as head football coach.

Nothing wrong with dissent and keeping them on their toes.

I agree. Reflexive cynicism occurs in equal measure to conspiracy theories. Hell, it is the internet, so why not send anonymous barbs. It is easy and requires less thought, especially about the consequences when new fans and recruits read them. Based on real insight, challenging assumptions or facts, I have no issue. But, declarations that attribute motives to others, when we actually do not know, are lame.

Brown and team will continue to push the envelope... and this is a good thing. Embrace non-conformity and a different way of conducting business.

The cynicism has been brought on by 20 years of incompetence. They are starting to get the benefit of doubt with each success. We are all getting there slowly.

Gotta think the new Moody will be absolutely rocking with the start of Big East play in a year and a half.

My buddies and I were chatting last week and all of us are way more pumped about bball than football right now. First time that's ever happened.
Can't wait for the season to start.

The same "dissenters" we're also the ones saying "hire Larry Brown already!" Look what happened. That explains a lot of the content.

I have to agree. I've been as cynical as anyone regarding certain things over the years, but if you give money and buy tickets, I think you're allowed to be critical. Just like voting.

I was there during the Pony Express Days when SMU FB was at its zenith. At the same time, SMU BB was good, not great.
Yet I had just as much fun at Moody as Texas Stadium. When the students pack that lower bowl it is something special. That simply won’t happen in C-USA, unless we are playing Memphis or UH.
Hopefully it will occur most nights in the BE.

True. LB and staff haven't done much by the two signings of guys with questionable pasts and a gamble that they'll get it right this time, and "firing" four existing team members. They haven't done much, but they've only been here for a short time. At least they're doing something.

Are they "signed" or do we just assume they will honor their commitment to transfer...a la Gilbert

They haven't done much? They are moving quickly and doing a lot by my estimation.
